Sucy and David Stevenson, DDS
"We are happy knowing we all benefit from our Charitable Remainder Trust."
Susana M. and David Stevenson, DDS, have supported Huntington Hospital for
decades. Their involvement includes the creation of a generous charitable
remainder trust (CRT), which provides them with income for life. Income is
calculated each year as a fixed percentage of their trust's fair market
value. Funds remaining in the trust following the Stevensons' lifetimes is
designated to help Huntington Hospital provide care to under- and uninsured
patients.
The Stevensons originally began contributing to the hospital in gratitude
for care Sucy's father received here: when an insurance company canceled
her father's policy, the hospital's patient assistance program provided for
his treatment. "We never forgot what the hospital did for us, and we
started to contribute a little every year."
The Stevensons have also been patients at the hospital themselves. "We feel
we get the best of care here," says Sucy. "Not only that, but we feel like
we're walking into a place of friends - and half the battle with medical
care...is having absolute faith in the people caring for you."
As a result, the Stevensons remain steadfastly committed to caring for the
hospital that has cared for them. "Our intention," says David, "is to
support Huntington Hospital in every way we possibly can."
